Paris Hilton was able to bond out of a Las Vegas jail in about half the normal time to reduce distractions, officials say.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Deputy Chief Jim Dixon said Hilton was moved through the Clark County Detention Center quickly to reduce disruptions because of her celebrity, the Las Vegas Review-Journal said Monday.

Hilton, 29, was charged with one felony count of cocaine possession when Las Vegas police pulled over a car she in which she was a passenger for a traffic stop last week.

"When you bring somebody in like that, everybody comes over and tries to look at them. I'd have officers attempting to keep inmates away from her. I'd have disruptions," said Dixon, who runs the detention center.

She reportedly opened her purse in front of the officer involved in the traffic stop, and when she did so a small baggie holding cocaine fell out, the newspaper said. She said neither the purse, nor the cocaine, were hers.

She is to appear in court on the possession charge next month.
